Jim Toman
Head Coach
Coach Toman is begininning his third year as the Head Coach at Liberty University. The past 11 seasons he spend as the Associate Head Coach at the University of South Carolina. In his time there he had 11 top 25 recruiting classes including 3 classes that were #1 in the country. He has been to 14 NCAA regionals, 8 super-regionals, and 3 College World Series. In his first two seasons as head coach, he has won a record 68 games.The Flames set school records for fielding percentage (.974), HBP (95) and conference wins (17).
Jason Murray
Assistant Coach
Coach Murray is in his first year with the Liberty Flames after coming his second stint at Winthrop University. Coach Murray was the Head Coach as Charleston Southern for four years, recruiting coordinator at University of Michigan, and assistant at the University of Florida. Coach Murray will serve as the infield and hitting coach, as well as the recruiting coordinator. His experience and energy will be a tremendous asset.
Garrett Quinn
Assistant Coach
Coach Quinn is in his second year at Liberty after coming from Stetson University, and will serve as the pitching coach, handle the catchers, and assist in recruiting. Coach Quinn went to two regionals as an assistant at the University of Florid, and three regionals during his time as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Stetson. In 2007, Quinn's pitching staff was ranked 30th in the country in ERA. In 2009, the flames had an ERA of 5.27 as a staff, and had one pitcher drafted by the Atlanta Braves.
Adam Ward
Assistant Coach
Coach Ward enters his first year with Liberty University Baseball. Coach Ward just finished his collegiate playing career as a catcher at Clemson University. The past four years, Coach Ward has also worked with the North Charleston Dixie Youth Majors. In his four years with North Charleston, Coach Ward helped guide the team to two State Championships (2007, 2008), and two World Series Championships (2006, 2009). Coach Ward will be working with the outfielders and assisting with the catchers and hitters.
Billy Daniels
Director of Operations
Coach Daniels is in his second year with the Flames as the director of operations after being an assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, and the pitching coach at Longwood University in 2008. Daniels assited Longwood in recruiting and led the pitching staff to a #14 rank nationally in walks/nine innings along with being in the top 75 in the country in ERA.
